Meet The Director - My Introduction to Golf
My name is David Brown. I am a left- below knee amputee. I lost my leg due to a football injury when I was 15 years old. As an avid lover of sports, I continued to play half-court pick-up basketball games and high school wrestling.
I picked up my first golf club at the age of 22, on a vacation trip to Seatle Washington to visit a friend. While there I met a cousin of mine for the first time and he introduced me to the game of golf. I was hooked on the game the very first time out. I have continued to play for the past 46 years.
I began conducting Free Adaptive Golf Clinics about 10 years ago prior to Covid. Now that I am semi-retired It is my goal and pleasure to help amputees and others with disabilities to keep some joy in their life through the beautiful challenging game of golf. Please join us at one of our events, swing the club with us and enjoy some Fresh Air.
