Meet The Director - My Introduction to Golf
My name is David Brown. I am a left- below knee amputee. I lost my leg due to a football injury when I was 15 years old. As an avid lover of sports, I continued to play half-court pick-up basketball games and high school wrestling.
I picked up my first golf club at the age of 22, on a vacation trip to Seatle Washington to visit a friend. While there I met a cousin of mine for the first time and he introduced me to the game of golf. I was hooked on the game the very first time out. I have continued to play for the past 46 years.
I began hosting free adaptive golf clinics. Now retired, I formed a Non-Profit – Stroke of Fresh Air. It’s my joy to help amputees and others with disabilities experience the challenge, freedom, and fun of golf.
Please join us at one of our events, swing the club, and enjoy some Fresh Air with us.
